Brother Roston Bullard, 33° KYCH, was a Past Master of Lake Hall Lodge No. 33, F&AM-PHA and an Honorary Past Master of Roston Bullard Lodge No. 708, F&AM-PHA. He was a Past District Deputy Grand Master of what is now known as District 22. He was a Past Junior Grand Warden of the Most Worshipful Union Grand Lodge of Florida, F&AM-PHA, a Grand Inspector General of the Florida Council of Deliberation, United Supreme Council, A.A.S.R. PHA, SJ, and a Florida Scottish Rite Overseer. Brother Bullard was also a Past Deputy for the Orient of Florida (Scottish Rite Masonry), a Past Potentate Noble (A.E.A.O.N.M.S.), and was a Deputy Grand Officer of every House in York Rite Masonry during his time. Although records have been lost, the Jurisdiction believes Brother Bullard received the honor of being an Honorary Past Grand Master of the MWUGL of Florida, F&AM-PHA.
Brother Bullard lived from September 5, 1916, until April 2, 2012 (he died in Nashville, Tennessee). He was a Seaman First Class in the United States Navy and served in World War II. According to his obituary, Brother Bullard had a sister named Crecia Willingham; a daughter named Shirley Talley (1942-2023); grandchildren named Angie Talley and Paul A. Talley, Jr.; and a great grandchild named Alexia Talley-Brown. Brother Bullard possibly fathered another daughter, Ella Doris Reeves of Camilla Georgia (1938 – 2019). Ms. Reeves’ obituary lists her mother as Lillian Campbell, her father as Brother Bullard, and Shirley Talley as her sister.
Shirley Talley’s obituary indicates that her mother was Lucia Bullard. According to Golden Star Chapter No. 149, OES-PHA Records, Lucia Bullard, who died is 1985, was the wife of Bro. Bullard, a sister of the Chapter, and served as Associate Matron and Secretary for the Chapter. Bro. and Sis. Bullard lived at 431 Garfield Ave., Winter Park, FL 32789 (The home was sold in 2019 to an investment company by Sis. Bullard’s Estate).
Brother Bullard’s funeral service was held on April 4, 2012, at 4:00 p.m. in the Robert E. Lewis Memorial Chapel in Nashville, Tennessee. A memorial service was held to honor him on Saturday, April 21, 2012, (the third Saturday), at 4:00 pm at Mt. Moriah Baptist Church in Winter Park, FL. His final resting place is in the Middle Tennessee State Veterans Cemetery of Nashville, Tennessee.
